Murk Academy Official Rules
1. Introduction
These Rules govern all Murk Academy League of Legends tournaments and leagues. Their purpose is to maintain competitive integrity, ensure fair play, and provide a positive environment for all participants.
Participation in a Murk Academy event does not grant entry into any other competition.
1.1 Acceptance of Rules
By registering for or participating in any Murk Academy match, players agree to abide by these Rules, including the Code of Conduct.
1.2 Registration
Teams must register through the designated application process.
Each team must designate a Team Captain (Point of Contact), who is responsible for:
Completing the team's registration.
Submitting all required player information, including alternate accounts.
Ensuring all rostered players meet eligibility requirements.
Player eligibility requirements:
Players may only compete on one team per tournament.
All rostered players must remain eligible throughout the season.
Ineligible players may be removed from the roster or disqualified from participation.
1.3 Rule Changes
Murk Academy reserves the right to modify these Rules at any time. Continued participation following a rule update constitutes acceptance of the revised Rules.
2. Tournament Structure
The Tournament Structure section outlines scheduling, league formats, playoffs, and match procedures.
2.1 Scheduling
Default Play Days: Murk Academy plays on default days at 8 PM EST (IBSG .
2.1 Scheduling
Weekly Match Requirements
All teams must play their scheduled match on their league's designated play day.
Teams are encouraged to agree on a mutually convenient start time. If no agreement is reached, the match will be played at the default start time of 8:00 PM EST.
Rescheduling & Extensions
Teams may request an earlier or later start time with approval from their opponent and notification to a Tournament Administrator.
In exceptional circumstances, administrators may approve an extension beyond the designated play day. Extension requests must be submitted before the scheduled match day and include a valid reason. Any approved match must be completed within the timeframe set by Tournament Administrators.
Emergency Rescheduling
Emergency reschedules may be approved for circumstances beyond a team's control, including severe weather or natural disasters. Administrator approval is required.
If a series is interrupted and rescheduled, completed games and draft restrictions will remain in effect.
2.2 Tournament Format
Tournament format will be determined by league size and may consist of either a Round Robin or Swiss format.
Round Robin
Each team plays every other team once or twice, depending on the season format.
Regular season matches are Best-of-3 (Bo3).
Match wins are awarded for a 2-0, 2-1, or forfeit victory.
Ties are resolved first by head-to-head results, followed by additional tiebreakers determined by Tournament Administrators.
Play offs
2.2.2 Playoffs
At the conclusion of the regular season, the top teams based on standings will advance to the playoffs.
Playoff seeding will be determined by regular season placement. If two or more teams are tied in the standings, official league tiebreaker procedures will be used to determine seeding.
Unless otherwise announced by Tournament Administrators:
1st Seed will play 4th Seed.
2nd Seed will play 3rd Seed.
Semi-Final matches will be played as a Best-of-5
The winners of each Semi-Final will advance to the Grand Final.
The Grand Final will be played as a Best-of-5 (Bo5) to determine the league champion.
The higher-seeded team will receive side selection for Game 1 of each playoff series.
2.2.4 Playoff Side Selection
The higher-seeded team will choose Blue Side or Red Side for Game 1.
For all subsequent games in a Best-of-3 (Bo3) or Best-of-5 (Bo5) series, the losing team from the previous game will choose side selection.
Rosters and Rank Eligibility
3.3.2 Rosters
Teams may only use players listed on their approved roster.
Players may only be rostered on one team per tournament.
All rostered players must remain eligible throughout the season.
Any roster changes must be approved by Tournament Administrators.
3.3.3 Rank Eligibility
Peak rank is defined as the highest rank reached during a season, regardless of where the player finished.
Players may not have exceeded the following peak ranks during Season 14 Split 3 or any subsequent season
Players who exceed their division's rank cap become ineligible for that division.
Growth Clause
Players are encouraged to continue improving and climbing the ranked ladder throughout the season.
A player who exceeds their division's rank cap during an active season may continue competing with their current team for the remainder of that season.
However, players who exceed their division's rank cap will be ineligible to participate in that same division during the following season.
Tournament Administrators reserve the right to review extreme cases where a player's rank significantly exceeds the intended competitive level of the division. In such cases, administrators may require the player to move to a higher division or rule them ineligible for continued participation.
Peak rank remains the highest rank achieved at any point during the season
3.3.4 Player Eligibility
To remain eligible, players must:
Have completed at least 125 Ranked Solo/Duo games since Season 14 Split 3.
Have played at least 45 Ranked Solo/Duo games during the current split.
Play a minimum of 5 Ranked Solo/Duo games per week while rostered.
Use accounts that are at least Level 150 and in good standing.
Disclose all League of Legends accounts above Level 30 to Tournament Administrators.
Failure to meet any eligibility requirement may result in player suspension until the requirement is satisfied.
3.3.5 Competitive Activity Requirement
Murk Academy leagues are designed for active competitors. Players are expected to maintain consistent ranked activity throughout the season.
Players who fail to meet the weekly minimum of 5 Ranked Solo/Duo games may be ruled ineligible for future matches until the requirement is met.
3.3.6 Player Contracts:
Players with over 57% win rates are required to play 8 ranked games per week until they either peak above league and can not join back next season due to peak or their win rate drops below the threshold.
Admins can force investigations if they suspect intentional throwing,Elo sitting which may result in the player becoming ineligible.
3.3.7 Guest Accounts
Guest, shared, borrowed, or unregistered accounts are not permitted.
All players must compete on a registered League of Legends account that has been submitted to Tournament Administrators and meets all league eligibility requirements.
3.3. Good Standing
Players must be in good standing with Riot accounts (no undisclosed violations).
Players/Teams must be free of or have served any penalties from previous Murk Academy rule violations.
3.3.8 Roster Lock
Teams must declare their starting roster 12 hours prior to the start of the series.You may declare a sub but they must be an eligible player already registered on the team's roster.
Teams may not make last-minute roster changes for competitive advantage, scouting avoidance, or draft manipulation.
Once Game 1 begins, the starting roster is locked for the remainder of the series.
Substitutions may only be made between series; you must tell the other opponent before the game lobby is made for game 2.
Emergency substitutions (E-Subs) may be approved for unforeseen circumstances at administrator discretion.
Emergency substitutions will cost a team two bans.
Failure to comply may result in penalties, including loss of side selection, loss of bans, game forfeiture, or series forfeiture at administrator discretion.
3. Gameplay Rules
3.1 Match Settings
3.1.1 Game Setup
Tournament codes will be provided whenever possible.
All official matches must be played using Tournament Draft mode.
If tournament codes are unavailable, the Home Team is responsible for creating the lobby using the following settings:

3.1.2 Draft Format
IBSG, Platinum, and Diamond leagues will use the Fearless Draft format.
Teams are responsible for using an approved Fearless Draft platform. Failure to follow the required draft format may result in penalties at Tournament Administrator discretion.
3.2 Match Procedures
3.2.1 Home and Away Teams
Home and Away designations will be assigned by Tournament Administrators and listed on the official schedule.
3.2.2 Match Start Requirements
A minimum of five eligible rostered players must be present before the match begins.
Teams have 20 minutes from the scheduled start time to field a complete roster.
Players must join the lobby in standard role order when requested.
Late penalties are as follows:
10 minutes late: Loss of 2 bans
15 minutes late: Loss of 4 bans
20 minutes late: Series forfeiture
Team Captains must notify a Tournament Administrator as soon as possible if a delay is expected.
Forfeits
A team that fails to appear at the agreed-upon or default match time will forfeit the series.
The opposing team will be awarded a 2-0 victory.
If neither team is present, the match will be recorded as a 0-0 double forfeit.
3.2.3 In-Game Conduct
All-chat is permitted.
Emotes and friendly banter are allowed provided they remain respectful and comply with the Code of Conduct.
Team Captains or designated representatives should be the primary point of contact for match-related issues.
3.2.4 Match Reporting
Upon completion of a series, teams must submit:
Post-game result screenshots
Fearless Draft links (if applicable)
All submissions must be posted in the designated match reporting channel.
3.3 Match Outcome
All games in a series must be played consecutively.
Matches may not be split across multiple days without Tournament Administrator approval.
Teams have up to 10 minutes between games to create the next lobby and begin champion select.
Longer delays require administrator approval.
3.3.1 Forfeits & No-Shows
Teams must have five eligible players present within 20 minutes of the scheduled start time.
Teams unable to field five players within the allotted time will receive a no-show loss.
If both teams fail to field five eligible players within 20 minutes, a double no-show will be recorded.
Teams may not voluntarily forfeit a match without Tournament Administrator approval.
3.3.2 Communications
Teams are expected to communicate through official Discord channels and respond promptly to opponents and Tournament Administrators regarding scheduling, match issues, and rulings.
3.3.3 Team and Player Names
Team names, player names, and aliases must comply with all league rules and the Code of Conduct.
Tournament Administrators may require a name change at any time.
Duplicate names, symbol-only names, or intentionally misleading names are prohibited.
Players must notify Tournament Administrators before changing their registered in-game name.
3.3.2 Observers
Observer access is limited to Tournament Administrators, approved broadcast staff, and authorized spectators.
Unless otherwise instructed, spectator settings must remain set to Lobby Only.
3.3.3 Bugs, Glitches, and Restarts
Teams may not intentionally exploit bugs, glitches, or unintended game interactions for competitive advantage.
If a bug or glitch impacts gameplay:
The game should continue unless directed otherwise by a Tournament Administrator.
The affected team must save the replay and submit evidence through the official support system.
Tournament Administrators may validate the result, order a restart, remake, replay, or take other corrective action as deemed appropriate.
Tournament Administrator decisions are final.
Tournament Administrators may also order a restart due to technical failures, severe game-impacting bugs, or circumstances outside the players' control.
3.5 Match Disruptions
3.5.1 Disconnects
Players have up to 10 minutes to reconnect following a technical issue.
If a player cannot reconnect within 10 minutes, the opposing team may request that play resume.
3.5.2 Emergency Substitutions (E-Subs)
Emergency substitutions may be approved when a player is unable to participate due to unforeseen circumstances.
E-Subs must be approved by a Tournament Administrator.
E-Subs must meet all league eligibility requirements.
Teams using an approved E-Sub will incur a penalty of two lost bans per draft.
3.5.3 Pauses
Tournament Administrators may pause a match at any time.
Teams may only pause a game for legitimate issues, including technical problems, player disconnects, or other circumstances that significantly impact gameplay.
During a pause:
Teams must immediately inform their opponents of the reason for the pause.
Players must remain available and ready to resume play.
Teams may pause for up to 15 minutes to resolve technical issues.
Evidence should be collected whenever possible for any dispute or reported issue.
Improper use of pauses may result in penalties at administrator discretion.
3.6 Draft Issues
If a draft is disrupted due to a website malfunction, missed pick, missed ban, or technical issue:
The issue must be reported immediately to a Tournament Administrator.
All picks and bans completed before the disruption must remain unchanged.
The draft will resume from the point of interruption whenever possible.
Tournament Administrators may supervise or recreate the draft if necessary.
Draft issues not reported before the game begins will not be reviewed retroactively.
Intentional draft manipulation or abuse of the drafting system may result in forfeits, disqualification, or additional penalties.
5. Team Ownership & Eligibility
5.1 Team Ownership
Team ownership belongs to the individual who provides the league buy-in unless otherwise approved by Tournament Administrators.
5.2 Internal Team Matters
Murk Academy does not mediate internal team disputes.
However, disputes that interfere with league operations may result in penalties or disqualification at administrator discretion.
5.3 Participation Eligibility
Murk Academy reserves the right to deny, suspend, or revoke participation for any player or team found to be in violation of league rules, eligibility requirements, or the Code of Conduct.
6. Code of Conduct
6.1 Player Conduct
All participants are expected to demonstrate integrity, sportsmanship, and respect toward players, staff, spectators, and community members across all platforms, including in-game chat, Discord, Twitch, and other official Murk Academy channels.
The following behavior is prohibited:
Harassment, discrimination, or personal attacks
Abusive, offensive, threatening, or hateful language
Toxic behavior intended to disrupt the competitive environment
Spamming, scamming, or social engineering
Game sabotage, griefing, or intentionally disrupting teammates
Any unlawful activity
Violations may result in disciplinary action regardless of intent.
6.2 Competitive Integrity
Players must compete to the best of their ability at all times.
The following actions are strictly prohibited:
Match fixing or collusion
Intentionally feeding or throwing games
Account sharing
Cheating, scripting, hacking, or unauthorized third-party software
Exploiting bugs, glitches, or unintended game interactions
DDoS attacks or interference with player connections
Macro usage that automates gameplay
Bribery or accepting incentives to influence match outcomes
Betting or gambling on Murk Academy matches
Providing false account or player information
Any attempt to manipulate league operations or tournament results
6.3 Harassment & Discrimination
Harassment, abuse, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any other protected status will not be tolerated.
Retaliation against individuals who report misconduct is strictly prohibited.
6.4 Team Ownership
Team ownership belongs to the individual who registers the team and completes the league buy-in, unless otherwise approved by Tournament Administrators.
6.5 Internal Team Matters
Murk Academy does not mediate internal team disputes. Teams are responsible for managing their own rosters, finances, and player agreements.
Disputes that interfere with league operations may result in administrative action.
6.6 Participation Eligibility
Murk Academy reserves the right to deny, suspend, or revoke participation for any player or team found to be in violation of league rules, eligibility requirements, or the Code of Conduct.
7. Enforcement & Penalties
7.1 Investigations
Players are required to cooperate fully with Tournament Administrators during any investigation.
Providing false information, withholding evidence, or attempting to interfere with an investigation may result in additional penalties.
Tournament Administrators may temporarily restrict or suspend participation while an investigation is ongoing.
7.2 Penalties
Tournament Administrators may issue penalties including, but not limited to:
Warnings
Loss of bans
Game restarts
Game losses
Match forfeitures
Series forfeitures
Player suspensions
Team disqualifications
Removal from future Murk Academy competitions
Repeated violations may result in permanent removal from all Murk Academy events.
7.3 Final Authority
Murk Academy reserves the right to interpret, enforce, and apply these Rules at its sole discretion.
All rulings and disciplinary decisions made by Tournament Administrators are final.
8. Support & Disputes
8.1 Support Tickets
All official issues, disputes, rule clarifications, technical problems, and match-related concerns must be submitted through the official Murk Academy ticket system.
Direct messages to Tournament Administrators regarding active tournament issues may be ignored.
Support tickets should include:
Teams involved
Description of the issue
Approximate time of occurrence
Relevant screenshots, video clips, chat logs, or other evidence
Issues should be reported as soon as reasonably possible.
Failure to provide sufficient evidence may result in a ruling against the reporting party.
9. General Conditions
9.1 Participation Agreement
By participating in any Murk Academy event, players agree to abide by these Rules and accept all rulings made by Tournament Administrators.
9.2 Tournament Administration
Murk Academy reserves the right to modify, suspend, postpone, or cancel any event due to technical issues, emergencies, force majeure events, or circumstances beyond its control.
Murk Academy may remove or disqualify any player or team whose actions compromise the integrity, operation, or reputation of the league.
9.3 Prizes
9.4 Prize Distribution
Unless otherwise announced:
First Place Team: 70%
Second Place Team: 30%
Prize distributions are awarded on a per-player basis.
9.5 Prize Support
Questions regarding prize payouts should be submitted through the official Discord ticket system.
